Coir logs are constructed of interwoven coconut fibers that are bound together with biodegradable netting. Commercially produced coir logs come in various lengths and diameters. The product needs to be selected specifically for the site
With today’s growing expectation that all engineered solutions should reflect the environment they are constructed in the coir roll meets and exceeds all its requirements.
The coir not only is completely bio degradable but also qualifies as a recycled material.
Processed Coconut husk fibres are hydraulically pressed into a polypropylene or coir net bag and tied.
The coir is compacted to a density of approx. 6 -10kg/m or 7 -9 pounds per cubic foot.
The bag is a knotless, rhombic mesh designed for high mechanical applications and is woven in one piece, allowing coir rolls to be mechanically handled by hooking at both ends.
The 2.2m long, 300mm dia coir roll will support an average person standing on it, allowing only slight depression.
Quality Coir® coir roll being of the correct density not only ensures an effective installed lifespan but also a coir matrix loose enough to support rapid root growth through it.
